Foodways
began 2015
As the pilot of the broader Foodways project, Foodways Darmstadt mobilized dozens of stakeholders in the food systems of a small city in southern Germany. The project was hosted by curator Ute Ritschel as part of a residency at the Waldkunszentrum in association with Verein fur Internationale Waldkunst, KunstTREFFpunkt, and Vogelfrei.

On this distributed symposium, participants moved around the area by foot, bike, tram, and car to dozens of sites of food production, distribution, and consumption. At each site, there was a brief talk or some kind of information exchange, followed by some kind of snack.
