Bicycle Map Spoon
2011
Bicycle, Map, Spoon, an art project that takes the form of a bicycle tour of the environs of Utrecht. Participants will bicycle in small groups following maps that suggest the complex history of the city and region, attending to the city's origins, urban development and history of migrations. Expect a playful combination of unusual tourism and many other "tastes."
This work was produced in conjunctino with the 17th Performance Studies international conference, which has the theme "Camillo 2.0: Technology, Memory, Experience." As a performance link between PSi17 and its place, Bicycle, Map, Spoon suggests that a possible alternative model for a theatre of memory might be to bicycle, according to a hand-drawn map, en route to surprising bowl of soup.
